Chris started working within Pet Mania in 2007 and has now assumed full responsibility for the development of the Pet Mania stores as Managing Director.

Initially involved with marine fish keeping he has grown to understand the needs of the many animals in Pet Mania’s care but also to understand the inner workings of the business itself.

Chris regularly moves between the stores and can be found at either the Billingham store or the Stockton store

Cath has a life-long experience with any and all types of pets and she has been involved in the pet trade since the very early days, when she and her husband Bert Smith opened some of the first pet shops in the North East of England. Many of you will also know her from the early days, when she was very active at the markets and made sure the people of the region could get what they needed for their pets even when the pet shops of today were scarce.

Cath is a true and genuine pet lover as we all are at Pet Mania and currently she keeps six dogs at home as her beloved pets.

Cath is at the Billingham store and her primary animal interest is the Dog section

Jon has been working with Pet Mania right from the start in 2004, initially working part-time and has gradually taken over the Reptile & Exotic department. Initially this was a small area at the very back of the original Billlingham store, this developed into its own premises as The Reptile House on Mill Lane in Billingham and then in August 2010 into the much larger & lighter area within the Portrack store

Jonathon is all reptiles, reptiles and more reptiles! The new premises enables Jonathon to keep an even larger selection of reptiles and amphibians, spiders, scorpions and invertebrates. Jonathon is one of the very best reptile keepers around and a lot of the animals you see in the shop at any time are actually bred by him, on-site. Pet Mania is also involved in breeding rare species of reptiles and amphibians which are threatened, and this work is managed by Jonathon.

Jon is based in the Stockton store and his primary interest is Reptiles & Exotics

Amy is experienced with a lot of different pets, although she is particularly interested in small mammals, as well as dogs & cats. Ask Amy about anything related to animal care, and chances are she will have the answer!

Although young in years Amy has a wealth of experience with animals and will, generally, be more than able of answering your queries.

Amy is at the Stockton store and looks after the Small Animal section, the Bird section in addition to helping with the Dog section & Cat sections.

Becci has an interest in the Small Animal section and the the Bird section; in addition to helping with the Dog section & Cat sections.

Becci is normally at the Stockton store and is responsible for the purchasing of birds and small animals there.

She enjoys selling the pets to their new families. She keeps lots of pets at home e.g. guinea pigs, rabbits, dogs & cats. Because of this long experience she can answer most queries and give advice. She also supplies the shop with baby guinea pigs of the less common breeds.

Chris has been working in the Stockton store since it opened in July 2010. Chris is a part time member of staff, working 3-4 days, while studying at University and allows him to work more days during term breaks. He started as a member of the Tropical aquatics team and due to his interest and knowledge about small animals is now involved with the Small Animal section as well. More recently Chris has become involved with the administration side of the business helping to maintain the computer systems. Chris is based at the Stockton store and can be found in either the Aquatics, Small Animal and Cat & Dog sections. small animals, as well as dogs & cats. Gemma works at both the Billingham store and the Stockton store. She looks after the Small Animal section, the Bird section in addition to helping with the Dog section & Cat sections. She has recently started to work with the Tropical section at the Stockton store

Keeley is particularly interested small mammals, as well as dogs & cats. You can talk to Keeley about anything related to rabbits, rats and guinea pigs and the chances are she will be abble to help you.
Although young Keeley has been working with Pet Mania for several years now and has a broad experience of animal welfare.
Keeley is normally at the Billingham store but spends some time at the Stockton store. She looks after the Small Animal section, the Bird section in addition to helping with the Dog section & Cat sections.

Mark has kept fish for over 16 years and has worked in aquatics industry in the Darlington area for over 10 years.
He has a National Diploma in Aquatics Management and as such is well qualified to provide excellent service and advice to our aquatics customers.
He is very interested in unusual & oddball fish. He keeps catfish and has kept many different species at home over the years.
He also keeps and breeds freshwater Stingrays at home. These are really interesting fish. We also have a tank with some of these in at our Portrack store.
Mark is also a marine keeper.
Mark is normally at the Billingham store. He looks after the Marine Aquatics section
